About this cue
Hi Everyone,
I have 3 Curly Avocado turning blanks for sale here.
They are having some curls in it but way lower the figure that I expected.
Sold to me as Curly Black Avocado but I assure you there is no black in it-maximum metallic grey and lighter grey colour with some light pinkish. (The pinkish it looks very accurate to a fresh sawn London Plane)
These blanks require further seasoning as these are having very high Moisture Content(MC)!
Auction would start from 20£.
Similar wood as Mango but seems to be heavier and bit more dense. I have zero experience on how well will absorb dyes.
Recommend for tool handles or flutemaking but also for a nice kitchen knife handle.
For me such shipment is unacceptable-so the wood also as the Seller stated way different woods on a picture with way higher figurations too.
445 X 40 X 40mm with Moisture Content between 38-55%.
360 X 40 X 38mm with Moisture Content between 30-48%.
335 X 38 X 38mm with Moisture Content around or above 45%.
Check out each cues for small checks on either sides!
Please note that the Moisture Content will vary within the wood-I may think due to its figuration also as some sides shows way less or higher measures-so density would be vary too. Also note I sealed off all pieces end-grains with wax and the cracked areas too to highlight them.
