South Wales Cue Sports No 16, Kingwood & Ash, 58in, 9.4mm, 18oz (with mini butt)

This is an excellent hand-spliced cue from Thailand, imported by South Wales Cue Sports. I bought it last year as a stop-gap while waiting for a custom cue to be built.

In the end, I used it for a full season in the local league and even won a trophy with it. It plays beautifully. At 18oz with a 16-inch balance point, it feels lively and responsive while still having plenty of power when required. The cue is fitted with a titanium ferrule and a medium tip. It measures 9.4mm.

The shaft is straight-grained ash and has just been cleaned and lightly oiled. The butt is made from attractive kingwood, with plenty of contrast and character in the grain.

The cue is drilled and fitted with a quick-release thread and comes complete with a matching 6-inch mini-butt extension.

I genuinely hesitated before listing this one. I’ve become very comfortable with it and know exactly how it plays. However, it seems a shame for a cue this good to spend its life sitting unused in a case. The new cue is here and I have to make it work!

The cue was originally priced at £300, with the extension an additional £30. South Wales Cue Sports currently offers similar cues at comparable prices, although not in this particular specification.

Collection is welcome from Bath, or I can post securely in the original shipping tube.
