Vintage 1980s Metro Sports 18oz 2 Piece Pool Billiards Cue Taiwan + Hard Case

Vintage Metro Sports two-piece pool/billiards cue with fitted hard carrying case.
This cue was purchased in the early 1980s and has been kept with its case since then.
The cue has an attractive period decorative design with long contrasting points, cross-hatched/diamond detailing and red, black and cream-coloured rings.
It retains two particularly useful original identifiers:
• METRO SPORTS label
• Oval "MADE IN TAIWAN – 18 OZ" weight/origin badge
The two-piece construction uses an unusual substantial brass screw joint, with the threaded pin on the shaft section and female threaded fitting in the butt.

Provenance
Purchased in the early 1980s.
Research suggests this style of cue belongs to the Taiwanese export/private-label cue industry of that period. Similar construction and decorative features appear on cues produced by Taiwanese manufacturers for various sporting-goods brands.
Kao Kao Industrial of Taiwan produced cues with some notably similar specifications and decoration; however, I have not found sufficient evidence to confirm Kao Kao as the manufacturer of this particular Metro Sports cue, so it is being sold simply as a Metro Sports-labelled, Made in Taiwan cue.
